Just not that into you

Blazer: Thrifted // Blouse: KnowStyle // Jeans: Platos Closet // Boots: Bakers // Earrings: H&M // Nails Color:

I don't really do red much. But I couldn't pass up this red blazer I found while what else...thrifting. I originally saw these earrings on Death by Platforms blog (she amazeballs) and hadn't been to H&M for a minute so decided to go and pick these up. Aren't they cute. I'm taking a weeklong break from braids so decided to wear my hair up and show off these newbies.

Scroll down and get to know me a little better, I'll share a piece of my life with you...

I have a confession to make. I am a scaredy cat. A pretty big one. I'm scared of bugs. Scared of mold. Scared of mushrooms (only if I see them growing out of the ground). Scared of scary movies (after the fact) but still love to watch them. Lastly I am scared of crackheads.

I mean I will walk very fast to get past a druggie if I see them and I will not watch them on TV (unless its a comedy like Dave Chappele or something). I cannot and will not watch Dead Presidents again because of Chris Tucker's death scene. I cannot and will not watch Sugar Hill, Jungle Fever, American Gangster or any of those movies from beginning to end. And it all started with Pookie from New Jack City.

While being roasted by my co worker (which is often) I was told that I was looking like Nino Brown from New Jack City. I was rocking a black turtle neck and gold lion head chain circa early 90s, lol! So yeah he was dead on. If you are my age or older you know what I'm talking about.

So fast forward to last night and me and my husband were joking about it. Then I realized I saw New Jack City. At the theater. With my mom. So I was around 7 or 8 (I'm telling my age) I remember her covering my eyes for the really bad parts of the movie, but Pookie must have really scarred me for life yall. Yall remember him with that crack pipe. I remember being really upset when Nino put that rod through Christopher Williams hand. Wow! I've had a huge epihany. Chris Rock is the reason my almost 30 year old behind is scared of people on drugs. Smh.

Okay now you know a little more about me, heehee!!!

LOL!!! this ticked me...although it is a very serious story!

I also HATE watching people do drugs on TV. I wasn't scarred at young age, but my parents did substance abuse ministry for basically my whole live, so I'd be around a lot of recovering addicts at church for all their meetings and stuff. We even ran a halfway house. And I just got an up close and personal look at how addiction destroyed people's lives...it totally freaks me out to see it on TV or in movies. I close my eyes, and Fab tells me stop acting like a 5 year old. smh.
